So in true Hollywood fashion, they’ve (they being writer Hossein Amini and director Rupert Sanders) managed to take something and twist it around into something completely different. Much like Catharine Hardwicke’s “Red Riding Hood”, released earlier this year, and all the other fairy-tale and fable adaptations going on at the moment, this one succeeds in changing the story completely, yet somehow keeping the names of the characters and the title. I mean, can anyone remember massive battle scenes, swarms of ravens, or gigantic forest beasts in the traditional “Snow White”, or even in the Disney adaptation? I don’t recall Snow White being a warrior or soldier? All I remember is a princess, a prince, seven dwarves and a witch. Anyway, the movie is set to be released in June next year, so we’ll only truly be able to talk about it then. Don’t get me wrong, this looks like a totally rad movie, I just don’t think its fair to try and claim that its based on the fairytale, or any other version, since it clearly has very little in common, other than the title. But anyhow, lets see what the all-star cast of Kristen Stewart (Snow White, previously in the Twilight Saga), Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman, previously in Thor), and Charlize Theron (The Witch, I’m sure you know who she is), can do.
